Happy times at the Farm

 I spent the whole weekend at the farm with my family.  No rest for the weary, there was no time for me to stay in bed or to lazy around the house.  It was outdoors for me and ny niece MaJian with our farm animals (and plants).

There was a lot of hoeing and shoveling and planting.  We even had a picnic under the mango tree, eating spicy noodles.  We allowed our chocolate Doberma to run free around the lot.

Spending time at the farm meant disconnecting from cellphone signals with only spotty internet, but when we drove up to the highest peak at Camari, the scenery was beautiful too!

 Happy anniversary!

I am tearfully emotional now remembering how our beloved students (and friends) sprung into action to help - not caring about recognition or fame or cost or risk.

This rooted from a genuine desire to help the community they live in, to save lives, to make a contribution thru whatever way they could help.

Millenials are said to work passionately on things that have meaning for them.  You packed goods. You delivered PPEs. You prepared food packs.  You called together donors and startes information drives on social media.  

You volunteered!  You walked thru VSMMC despite the unknown risks to self simply because you wanted to comfort patients who were afraid and disconnected, and healthcare workers were too busy or too exhausted to sit down to communicate.

My heartfelt thanks to the CEBU CRISIS ASSISTANCE TEAM! 

Know that each time we thank donors, volunteers and partners on SOTTO LIVE programs, I am thinking of you - our brave young men and women of CEBU CRISIS ASSISTANCE TEAM!  Thank you for your sacrifice.  Your assistance has made a great impact on our COVID19 pandemic response.
